Main responsibilities of this department are :
- Implement , maintain and upgrade ICT infrastructure in King Faisal Hospital
- Collect and maintain statistics related to activities of the hospital .

Hardware Infrastructure
The IT infrastructure is built on a Local Area Network of 140 workstations and one server, using ethernet network cabling system and wireless Access poiint.

Hospital Information Management System ( HIMS)

Accounting package
A software package called ‘ SAGE’ is used by the finance department for General ledger and other accounting features.

Internet access
King Faisal Hospital has an e-mail / internet system with a domain name of kfh.org.rw . Our Lan is connected through a mail server to an ISP (wireless connection) , therefore allowing all authorized workstations to get access to Internet. We believe that Doctors and other staff will gain from the latest information provided by Internet to enable them to improve the quality of service.

Ressource center
A room has been equipped with a computer connected to Internet and a library.
The Hospital has a subscription to Hinari Journals.

Hospital statistics
The ITS department avail daily, monthly and annual statistic reports to the management .

These statistics concern various activities of the hospital like:
- Number of patients both outpatient and inpatients ( ward occupancy )
- Patients per medical fund.
- Number of patients and tests in laboratory and radiology
- Number of operations per category
- Number of patients visiting physiotherapy
- Pharmacy sales
- OPD and Theatre usage per doctor
- Telephone usage.
